Located in the Southeast of China,Fuding is a coastal city and has vast marine resources. It governs a sea area of 22, 439,500 mu, and is the joint point of two main fisheries in China--Mindong and Zhenan. It has an area of 451,400 mu of shallow sea and an area of 104,400 mu of tidal land. The cultivation area for marine products is 91.7 square kilometres, producing cucumber fish , rockfish, eels, pomfrets, cuttlefish, hair tails, shrimps etc. It also produces artificial aquiculture products like cucumber fish, prawn, fresh water eels, softshelled turtles, black crabs and pincers. Thus it becomes a unique market of sea foods. The total output of aquatic products is 210,903 tons, among which the output of marine products is 209,960 tons and the output of fresh water products is 943 tons.
