Areca-nut belongs to the category of palm, a kind of evergreen. It looks like coconut tree, with no branches. But it is slimmer than coconut tree, having a flavor of slenderness. Areca nut is a precious medicine in China  and has been an effective cure to a number of diseases like parasites in  intestines and stomach illness etc. Areca-nut is also an indispensable fruit of people of Li Nationality. Chewing areca-nut is their traditional custom.
